Makan Bus Timing and Frequency
Makan Bus starts from orchardgateway, and makes its way to the central north of Singapore.
First bus leaves orchardgateway at 11am
Last bus leaves orchardgateway at 7:37pm
The waiting time for each bus arrival is estimated at 22 minutes
Makan Bus route
The Makan Bus route starts from orchardgateway -> Balestier -> Thomson -> Sin Ming -> Ang Mo Kio -> Bishan -> Toa Payoh and back to orchardgateway.
There are a total of 10 stops for you to hop on and off with a selection of over 20 recommended foods to try along the way!
Makan Bus maps are provided to guests who purchase tickets and you can collect them either at our orchardgateway booth or onboard the bus!
For the best experience
As much as we love our food, we advise our guests not to bring certain strong-smelling food onboard such as durians.
We also do not allow food to be consumed on the bus in case of unfortunate nasty accidents.
Please do not stand when the bus is moving.
Should you require any assistance, our friendly tour guides onboard will be there to help you in any way possible. It’s a small bus and every guest is a new friend so it will be great if you can share the love and treat our guides with respect too!

What if it rains?
The buses will run regardless of weather and we also provide umbrellas onboard! Just be sure to return them!
What if I am lost!
Well, that’s what the map is for! Otherwise… just ask for directions! Singaporeans are a really friendly bunch of people who will be glad to help you find your way. Most of us speak English and who knows, you might even find yourself making a friend or two?

No worries, there are plenty of other yummy food to choose from at the various stops!

What does the ticket include?
The ticket includes a customised map of Singapore based on the Makan Bus route and a unique culinary experience through Singapore’s heartlands!
Do note that the tickets do not include food and drinks!
Do I have to print the ticket?
You can choose to print the tickets or simply present the e-tickets in your email.
How many times can I board the bus?
The ticket is valid for the entire day for the date purchased. You can board and alight as many times as you wish throughout the day.
Does my child need a ticket?
Children under the age of 12 may experience Makan Bus for free with accompanying paying adult/s.
Each child below the age of 12 must be accompanied by one paying adult.
What if I have certain food allergies?
It is best to check with the hawker or food seller before placing your order. In most cases, the hawkers will try to exclude that ingredient if they can.
Do I have to tip the guides?
While it is not mandatory, our guides will definitely greatly appreciate it if you tip them when they display exemplary service!
